Many things might seem unusual in the city of two continents: the way people work for instance. The typical Turkish tea, the work bench as well as the few tools with which al most anything is feasible – multiple friend- ships and sympathies are cultivated while smoking a cigarette or drinking countless cays.
The side table YOK‘s construction with its interlocked stillage was achieved by converting Oriental ornaments into a connection piece. The local metal spinner produces a slab into which the joint is recessed and then galva- nized in the backyard. The product demonstrates Istanbul‘s artisanry – with its uncomplicated teamwork between various crafts – in a form-fit manner.
